research into generic codes and conventions

The genre that I am going to research is horror.
Narrative
Character
Setting/Location- films like this are usually set in an genuine environment nowhere that doesnt look like its reality this is to make the audience have that other side of them to belive the film is real for axample places like - schools , college , parks/ forests , car parks , super markets , petrol stations , hospitals... and apartments there are usually a twist to what happens in the films and these are mainly set in the night so that the viewers know this can happen in everyday life.
Cinematography- camera shots are used very well in these types of films it helps emphasise the particular shot and it also helps the impact of that atmospher , wide shots would help mestablish the location/settings of the genre
Sound- sound eefects that are used would be screetching on a black board , doors shutting , things falling all to emphasise the situation

ANALYSE A FILM OPENING SEQUENCE

The opening sequence i have chosen is Attack The Block , It opens with a group of teenagers and a woman they reobbed in the middle of the street looking up at the bright light that atttracks them from the sky.

The narrative for Attack The Block is asliens trying to invade an estate in south london , so some youths decide to fight these unpleasant creatures.

The genre is a horror , the horror of this film would be the disgusting looking aliens that attack these humans , all because of the first femal alien that landed from out of space... so its like all the male aliens have come to look for her but the twist is the aliens can see so they simply follow what they can sense so since the youths took the first alien that fell out the sky its almost like they now have her DNA on them , but the other aliens have recognised there being fought back.. So the aliens just intend to destroy everything and everything

The Character Used Are - Jhon Boyega who played as Moses (known as the group leader)..
Jodie Whittaker Who played Sam (the woman who gets robbed by the groupies then has no
choice but team up witth them in the end)

Enigma would be the aliens that ivaded the estate and try take over from the young teenagers that are protecting there area.
